Do you have an imaginary world?
Imaginary worlds are great to have, and they make it fun when there's nothing to do. You can sit back and go on an adventure with your imaginary friends.
A lot of adults nowadays remember having imaginary worlds and friends when they were young. There's even a few of them who have shared their imaginary world with everyone. How do you think they do it?

Telling a Story
You can share your imaginary world with people by telling a story. There are many ways to do it. You can say it using words, draw some pictures, act it out on a stage, or you can even do something fancy with animation.
One of the most common ways to tell a story is to write. We call this creative writing. It's when you take your imaginary world and you use words (like the one's you're reading right now) to tell people about your world.
In this short introduction, you will learn a few things that every creative writer needs to know to start writing their story.

Worldbuilding
The people you tell your story to want to be able to imagine what you imagine. Worldbuilding is where you build a world so that others can imagine along with you.

About
My name is Justin Wang. As of April 19, 2023, I am a Life Scout working towards the rank of Eagle. My goal is to do everything I can to help my local community using the things I like doing. Something I enjoyed when I was young was creative writing. I had a few people teach me the basics, but I learned all the ins and outs on my own. Learning creative writing gave me a large headstart on English classes in school. With this website, I hope to give youth the chance to do the same for free.

This short introduction to creative writing is the product of an Eagle Scout Project. It started as a collection of blog posts made by me (Justin) as a side project when I interned at the Boys & Girls Club. Originally intended to inspire youth to explore literacy by getting them excited about creative writing, the project evolved until it was approved as an Eagle Scout Project. After many months of work, I proudly present the finished website. While there wasn't enough time to make it a full-on instructional course, please enjoy, in my opinion, the best parts of creative writing presented to you by a team of dedicated volunteers.
